Cookie Notice

The cookies fPrint uses, what each one does and how long it lasts, and how to accept, refuse or change your choice about analytics and marketing cookies.

Last updated 28 October 2026

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device; "local storage" is a similar store in your browser. We use a few that the site needs to work, one that records how you found us, and two optional kinds, each off unless you turn it on:

  • analytics: Google Analytics, which helps us understand how the site is used, and a count of how many people are on the site right now;
  • marketing: measuring whether one of our adverts on Google or Microsoft led to an order.

We never use remarketing cookies (adverts that follow you round other websites).

Cookies the site needs

These keep the site working. They do not need your consent, and you cannot switch them off on our site, although you can block them in your browser (parts of the site, such as the basket and checkout, may then stop working).

Cookie What it does How long it lasts
fprint_session Keeps your session: your basket, checkout and, if you sign in, your account 2 hours after your last visit to a page
XSRF-TOKEN Protects forms against forged submissions 2 hours
cookie_consent Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies 180 days
cookie_consent_marketing Remembers whether you accepted or rejected marketing cookies 180 days
vat_display Remembers that you chose to see prices with or without VAT (set only if you switch) 1 year
remember_customer_… Keeps you signed in to your account after you use a sign-in link (set only when you sign in) Until you sign out, or 400 days

How you found us

Cookie What it does How long it lasts
dup_attr Records where you first arrived from: the website that referred you, the first page you landed on, and any campaign tags or advert click codes in the link 90 days

We use this first-party record to see which sources bring customers, and if you order, it is kept with your order. It is read only by our own site and is not shared with anyone else or used to show you adverts. It is set whether or not you accept analytics cookies. If you do not want it, you can delete it, or block cookies from fprint.co.uk, in your browser settings; the site will keep working.

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

If you choose "Accept all", or tick "Analytics" under "Choose which cookies", we load Google Analytics, which sets these cookies to count visits and see which pages and products are useful:

Cookie What it does How long it lasts
_ga Distinguishes one visitor from another, without telling us who you are 2 years
_ga_8SWWN8837T Keeps track of your visit (session) for Google Analytics 2 years

If you accept, we also tell Google Analytics which products you look at, add to your basket and buy, with their prices before VAT, and if you place an order we send it a record of the purchase (the order number, value and products, with the analytics ID from the _ga cookie). We never send your name, email address or delivery address.

With analytics accepted, your browser also keeps a random visitor number in local storage and sends it to us once a minute with the page you are on, while the site is open:

Stored in your browser What it does How long it lasts
fp_visitor_id (local storage) Lets our team see how many people are on the site right now, without knowing who they are. Our server deletes each check-in within a day Until you clear it, or reject analytics cookies

If you choose "Reject all", or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded at all, none of these cookies is set and no visitor number is stored or sent. We use Google Consent Mode, which tells Google that you have not consented.

Marketing cookies (only with your consent)

If you choose "Accept all", or tick "Marketing" under "Choose which cookies", and we are running adverts with Google or Microsoft, their tags may set these cookies so we can see whether an advert led to an order. We never use them to show you adverts on other websites.

Cookie What it does How long it lasts
_gcl_au, _gcl_aw Google Ads: links an order to the Google advert you clicked 90 days
_uetsid, _uetvid Microsoft Advertising: links an order to the Microsoft (Bing) advert you clicked 1 day and 13 months

If you reject marketing cookies, none of these is set.

Other things stored in your browser

Stored in your browser What it does How long it lasts
dup_offer_snooze_until (local storage) Set when you join our offers list, so we don't ask you again 1 year
fp-livewire-419 (session storage) Reloads a product page left open too long, at most once a minute Until you close the tab

Changing your choice

You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page. If you change from accept to reject, we delete the Google Analytics cookies (or the advert cookies) from your browser and stop the visitor count. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Cookies on Stripe's payment page

When you pay, you move to Stripe's secure payment page, where Stripe sets its own cookies for security and fraud prevention. Stripe's own cookie and privacy notices explain them.
