PVC Banner Templates

Free, print-ready templates for every size and option of our PVC Banners, with the bleed, trim and safe area marked, and the folds, cut lines and page labels where your product has them.

About these templates

We have PVC banner templates for five sizes: 3000 x 1000mm, 2000 x 1000mm, 1500 x 500mm, 2400 x 600mm and 4000 x 1000mm. The artwork is the finished banner plus 5mm of bleed on every side, so a 3000 x 1000mm file is 3010 x 1010mm. Keep text and logos at least 50mm in from every edge. The same templates work for all three materials: standard PVC, heavy-duty fire-rated PVC and mesh.

The safe area on a PVC banner is much wider than on paper products. The edges are hemmed (folded over for strength), and eyelets are punched through the hem in the corners and along each edge, about 15mm in. Text or logos near the edge can be folded into the hem or punched through by an eyelet.

Our template marks typical eyelet positions with grey dots, so you can see roughly where they fall. Run your background colour or image out to the red bleed edge, and keep everything that matters inside the blue dashed safe area.

Images need at least 100dpi at full size, and 150dpi looks sharper close up; logos are best as vector files. Download the PDF for Illustrator, InDesign or Affinity, or the SVG for Inkscape. Delete or hide the guide layer before you export, then upload your PDF on the PVC banners page.

Sizes for Canva, Word and other apps

The artwork size is the trim size plus the bleed on every side. Use it as the custom size (in millimetres) when you set up a design without our file, and keep text inside the safe area.

  • Safe area: 50mm from every edge.
  • Eyelets: in the corners and along each edge, about 15mm in from the trim; the grey dots show typical positions.
  • Resolution: at least 100dpi at full size, 150dpi for a sharper result. A full-size background for the 3000 x 1000mm banner needs about 11811 x 3937 pixels at 100dpi, or 17717 x 5906 at 150dpi.
  • Single-sided: one page, printed on one side.

Using it in design apps and Word

Use Illustrator, InDesign, Affinity or Inkscape, and design at the full artwork size or at the trim size with 5mm bleed. For very large banners, keep photos linked rather than embedded so the file stays manageable. Word can't make a page this large: its largest page is 22 inches (558.8mm) on each side.

Questions

How far from the edge should text be on a PVC banner?

At least 50mm from every edge. The edges are hemmed and eyelets are punched through the hem about 15mm in from the edge, so anything closer can be folded into the hem or cut by an eyelet. Our template marks the 50mm safe area with a blue dashed line and typical eyelet positions with grey dots.

Where do the eyelets go on a PVC banner?

In the corners and along each hemmed edge, about 15mm in from the trim. The spacing depends on the banner's size, so treat the grey dots in our template as a guide and keep text and logos inside the blue dashed safe area, well clear of them.

What resolution do I need for a large PVC banner?

At least 100dpi at full size, because banners are read from a distance; 150dpi looks sharper close up. For a 3000 x 1000mm banner, a full-size background image needs about 11811 x 3937 pixels at 100dpi. Logos and text are best kept as vectors, which stay sharp at any size. Our automatic check warns you if an image is too low in resolution.
