Business Cards, Soft-Touch Business Cards
Soft-touch business cards, also called velvet laminated cards, are UK standard 85 x 55mm cards on 400gsm silk card, printed in full colour and finished with a soft-touch film on both sides. The film has a velvety feel, and it helps protect the print from scuffs.

Supply a PDF in CMYK with fonts embedded or outlined: the front on page 1 and the back on page 2. The laminate goes on after printing, so it does not change the artwork set-up.

Soft-Touch Business Cards FAQs
What is a soft-touch business card?
A soft-touch card has a laminate film on the front and back with a velvety feel. It is a simple way to make a standard 85 x 55mm card feel more premium without changing the size or the design, and like other laminates it makes the card more resistant to scuffs and finger marks than a card with no laminate.
Is soft-touch the same as velvet laminate?
Yes. Soft-touch and velvet laminate are two names for the same finish. On our cards it covers both sides. It is different from matt laminate, which is smooth with a low sheen but does not have the same soft feel.
Do I need to set up my artwork differently?
No. The film goes on after printing, so the set-up is the same as any of our business cards: 91 x 61mm with 3mm bleed, text 5mm inside the trim, and a two-page PDF with the front on page 1 and the back on page 2. Our free template has the bleed and safe area marked.
What card are soft-touch cards printed on?
400gsm silk card, the same card we use for all our business cards, with the soft-touch film added to both sides. Supply your artwork in CMYK and check the on-screen proof before you pay; the proof shows your layout, trim and safe area rather than the feel of the finish.
What is the minimum order?
100 cards per design. Cards with different names or details count as separate designs, each with a minimum of 100, so cards for three staff are three designs. The price table on this page shows double-sided soft-touch cards with VAT included, and delivery is free to UK mainland addresses.
