Stapled Booklets, A4 Stapled Booklet

An A4 stapled booklet has pages of 210 x 297mm (21 x 29.7cm), the size of a standard sheet of office paper, made from A3 sheets folded in half and stapled twice along the spine. Choose 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 pages, covers included. The large page suits reports, prospectuses, catalogues, brochures and magazines with photos and tables.

Every page is printed in full colour on 170gsm silk, with a self cover, from 50 booklets. Our booklet page count guide explains page counts and set-up, and our booklet templates number every page and mark the spine.

A4 Stapled Booklet FAQs

A4 or A5 booklet: which should I choose?

A4 gives each page twice the area of A5, so it suits photos, tables, diagrams and longer text. A5 is easier to hold and post and suits programmes and orders of service. If your A4 document already exists in Word or another program, an A4 booklet keeps the layout as it is, with no resizing. Our A5 booklets page covers the smaller size.

How do I count the pages?

Count every side of paper, including the covers. The front cover is page 1, the inside front cover page 2, and the back cover is the last page. So an 8-page booklet has four inside pages of content. Pages go up in fours because each A3 sheet, folded in half, makes four A4 pages.

Can I turn a Word document into an A4 booklet?

Yes. Make sure the page count is a multiple of four, adding blank pages if needed, then save as a PDF of single pages in reading order. Do not use Word's booklet or book fold setting, which rearranges the pages into spreads. Word does not add bleed, so keep colour away from the page edges or use our template.

Is the cover thicker than the inside pages?

No. Our booklets use a self cover: the cover and inside pages are the same 170gsm silk paper, printed in full colour. That keeps the booklet light and easy to post, and the silk surface suits both photos and text. Design the cover to stand out with a strong image and a clear title.

How many A4 booklets can I order?

From 50 per design, with lower prices per booklet at 100, 250 and 500. The table on this page shows 8 pages; change the page count in the options to see the others. Booklets are normally zero-rated for VAT, and our VAT on printing page sets out when.
