In short
DL is a paper size of 99 x 210mm (9.9 x 21cm), one third of an A4 sheet. It is the standard size for compliment slips and slim leaflets, and fits a DL envelope.
DL measures 99 x 210mm, which is 9.9 x 21cm or about 3.9 x 8.3 inches. It is exactly one third of an A4 sheet: divide A4's 297mm length by three and you get 99mm, with the 210mm width unchanged. The size takes its name from the DL envelope, which measures 110 x 220mm and holds a DL leaflet or an A4 sheet folded into three.

Where DL is used
- DL leaflets: tall and slim, they fit leaflet racks, envelopes and the hand. We print them on 135gsm or 170gsm gloss or 170gsm silk.
- Compliment slips: a DL sheet, usually landscape (210 x 99mm), on 120gsm uncoated paper to match our letterheads.
- Folded leaflets: an A4 sheet roll folded or Z folded comes down to DL, with six panels.
Setting up DL artwork
Set your page to 105 x 216mm (or 216 x 105mm landscape) so the 3mm bleed is included, and keep text and logos at least 5mm inside the trim. Our leaflet and flyer sizes guide compares DL with A6, A5 and A4.
