How we estimate this
An estimate, not a guarantee. It assumes you order before 12pm BST on a working day and your artwork is approved the same day, then adds the working days to dispatch for the options you chose and 1 to 2 working days of delivery to the UK mainland, skipping bank holidays.
Free artwork check and instant on-screen proof, with a manual proof available for £12. If we make a print error, we reprint it free. See our refund policy.

Roller Banners for Charities, Schools and PTAs
A roller banner stands up on its own, packs away into its base and can be used again at every event. We print roller banners at 850 x 2000mm or 1000 x 2000mm, single-sided on 300gsm polymer, with a standard stand and carry bag, from one banner. For a charity or school that goes to the same kinds of events each year, a banner with your name, your cause and a web address does the job year after year.
Where charities and schools use them. On a stall at a fair or a community day, behind a speaker at an annual meeting, at reception during a school open evening, and at the start or finish of a sponsored walk or fun run. Because it stands up on its own, a banner works in halls, marquees and corridors where you can't fix anything to the walls.
Which width. 850mm is the standard width and fits beside a table on most stalls. 1000mm gives a wider panel for a stage or a large hall. Both are 2000mm tall.
Designing for an event. Keep the name and the main message in the top half, at eye level. Keep important text at least 160mm up from the bottom, as the base can cover the bottom of the banner and a table can hide it. Avoid dates, so you can reuse the banner. Our roller banner guide covers the layout, and the roller banner template marks the zones.
Checking and delivery. Your file gets a free automatic check for size, bleed, colour mode, resolution and fonts, and you approve the on-screen proof before you pay. The dispatch time is shown on the roller banners page, counted in working days from proof approval, and most mainland deliveries arrive 1 to 2 working days after dispatch, as an estimate. Plan back from the event date and allow time for changes to the proof.
Prices include VAT at 20%, and every paid order has a VAT invoice.
How Charities, Schools and PTAs uses Roller Banners
Charity stall at a community event
One banner beside the table with the charity name, what it does and how to give, so people can see who you are from across the field or hall.
School open evening
A banner at reception with the school name, crest and a welcome line, reused every year without a date.
Sponsored walk or fun run
A banner at the start and finish with the cause and the web address for sponsorship, standing on firm ground or indoors at registration.
Worked example: a PTA with one banner for the year
The PTA wants one banner for the summer fair, the Christmas fair and new-parent evenings. It chooses 850 x 2000mm, puts the PTA name and logo in the top half, a web address in the middle and no dates, and keeps the bottom of the banner plain.
Design tips
- Put the name and cause at eye level, in the top half of the banner.
- Leave out dates and prices if you want to reuse the banner next year.
- Keep the bottom 160mm plain, as the base can cover the bottom of the banner and a table can hide it.
- Use few words. People walk past a banner in a few seconds.
- Use high-resolution logos. Ask for a vector file or a PDF of your logo rather than a copy from a website.
- Check the proof at full size on screen to see how the text reads from a distance.

Roller Banners for Charities, Schools and PTAs: FAQs
What size are your roller banners?
We print two sizes: 850 x 2000mm and 1000 x 2000mm. Both are single-sided on 300gsm polymer, with a standard stand and carry bag. The 850mm width is the most common and fits beside a table on a stall. The 1000mm width gives a wider panel for a stage, a hall entrance or a large stand.
How do we make a banner we can reuse every year?
Leave out anything that changes: the date, prices and this year's sponsors. Use the charity or school name, logo, a short line about what you do and a web address or QR code. Put event-specific details on posters or leaflets instead, which are quicker to change each year.
Is there VAT on roller banners for charities?
Roller banners are standard-rated, so the price includes VAT at 20%. HMRC has a separate relief for some charity advertising, with its own conditions; our guide on VAT relief for charities explains the rules. Every paid order has a VAT invoice showing the VAT on each line, for your treasurer.
Will the banner arrive in time for our event?
The product page shows the dispatch time, counted in working days from the day you approve your proof. Most mainland deliveries arrive 1 to 2 working days after dispatch, but that is an estimate and the courier sets the final time. Order well before the event, approve the proof promptly, and contact us first if the date is close.
