Posters, A0 Poster (841 x 1189mm)

An A0 poster is 841 x 1189mm (84.1 x 118.9cm, about 33.1 x 46.8 inches), the largest standard A size. It has an area of one square metre and is the size for statement displays: exhibitions, academic conferences, shop launches, venue walls and large photo prints.

Our A0 posters are printed in full colour on one side of 170gsm silk paper as standard, from a single copy; gloss, satin and outdoor papers are also available. Our poster sizes guide explains resolution and size, and you can download the A0 poster template with bleed and safe area marked.

A0 Poster (841 x 1189mm) FAQs

Why is A0 one square metre?

The ISO 216 standard starts from A0, defined as one square metre with sides in the ratio 1 to the square root of 2. Halving A0 gives A1, halving A1 gives A2, and so on down to A4 and beyond. That is why every A size has the same shape, and why A0 is exactly twice the area of A1.

What resolution does an A0 poster need?

About 5000 x 7000 pixels gives 150dpi at A0, which looks sharp from normal viewing distance. A photo of 4000 x 3000 pixels gives about 85dpi across the long side, so it may look soft up close. Text, logos and shapes saved as vectors in your PDF print sharp at any size, so the photos are what to check.

Is A0 too big for a conference poster?

A0 is a common size for academic and conference posters, but check the event's instructions first: some boards fit A0 portrait only, others A1. If the board is smaller, an A1 poster keeps the same proportions, so your layout scales down without changes.

Can I fold an A0 poster into my bag?

Our standard posters are printed on 170gsm silk paper, and folding will leave creases that show on the display. If you need to carry an A0 poster to an event, roll it rather than fold it, and carry it in a tube or a large flat folder. At the venue, let it relax for a few minutes before you pin or frame it, so the edges lie flat.

Is A0 the largest poster you print?

Yes. A0 is the largest of our four poster sizes, from A3 up. For a bigger display, a roller banner gives you 2000mm of height on a stand. Silk, gloss and satin posters are for indoor use, and outdoor papers are available; prices on this page include VAT at 20%.
