We print roller banners at 850 x 2000mm or 1000 x 2000mm in full colour on 300gsm polymer banner material, supplied fitted to a standard roller stand with a carry bag, from a single banner. A roller banner, also called a pull up banner, rolls down into its own base: pull it up, hook it onto the pole and it stands on its own, then roll it back down to pack it away. It is a quick way to put your name up indoors at an exhibition, reception, event or shop counter. Check an on-screen proof before you pay, prices include VAT, and delivery is free to UK mainland addresses.

Supply artwork at the full banner size, 850 x 2000mm or 1000 x 2000mm, plus 5mm bleed on every edge (860 x 2010mm or 1010 x 2010mm), as a PDF in CMYK with fonts embedded or outlined. The stand base can cover the bottom of the banner, so fill the bottom strip with background colour or image only. Keep logos, text and key images at least 10mm from the top and sides and 160mm from the bottom; our free template marks the bottom strip and the safe area. Images at 150dpi at full size usually look sharp at viewing distance.

Download a roller banner templateWhat is the difference between a roller banner and a pull up banner?
Nothing: they are two names for the same thing, sometimes also called a roll up banner. The printed banner rolls down into its own base; you pull it up, hook it onto the support pole and it stands on its own. Roll it back into the base to pack it away, which makes it quick to set up at events, receptions and exhibitions.
What size is a roller banner, and how much is hidden by the base?
Ours are 850 x 2000mm or 1000 x 2000mm. The artwork is the full banner size plus 5mm bleed on every edge (860 x 2010mm or 1010 x 2010mm). The stand base can cover the bottom of the banner, so fill the bottom strip with background only, and keep text, logos and faces at least 10mm from the top and sides and 160mm from the bottom. Our free template marks the bottom strip and the safe area.
Which width should I choose?
850mm suits most receptions, counters and smaller exhibition spaces. 1000mm gives about 18% more width for a bigger logo, a busier design or a wider backdrop for photos. Both are 2000mm tall. If you are standing two banners side by side, choose the same width for both so the display looks even.
What comes with the banner?
Your printed banner comes fitted to a standard roller stand, with a carry bag to take it to and from events.
How do I set up a roller banner?
Stand the base on a flat floor and fit the support pole into it. Then pull the banner up slowly by its top rail and hook the rail onto the top of the pole. To take it down, unhook the rail and guide the banner back into the base by hand, rather than letting it spring back, so the print is not creased or scratched.
What resolution do my images need?
Images at 150dpi at full size usually look sharp, because a banner is seen from a few steps away. For an 850 x 2000mm banner that is about 5020 x 11811 pixels for an image filling the whole banner. A logo copied from a website will be far too small, so use the original vector or high-resolution file. The automatic check flags low resolution before you pay.
How should I lay out a roller banner?
Put your logo and main message in the top part of the banner, around eye level for someone standing, where people look first. Keep the wording short: your name, what you do and one call to action. Use the middle for images or a few key points, and keep the bottom 160mm clear of text and logos, because the base can cover the bottom of the banner.
Can I use a roller banner outdoors?
Roller banners are made for indoor use: receptions, exhibitions, conferences, shops and school or club events. A roller banner can blow over in the wind, so it is not suitable outside. For an outdoor sign, a correx board is the better choice.
Do the prices include VAT?
Yes. Roller banners are display material, so they are standard-rated and the prices shown include VAT at 20%. There is nothing to add at checkout. Every paid order has a VAT invoice showing the net price, VAT rate and VAT for each line, which you can open from your order page, so a VAT-registered business can usually reclaim the VAT.
Can I order just one banner?
Yes. Roller banners start from a single banner per design, and you can also order 2, 3 or 5. Each design is priced separately, so two different banners for the same event are two items of one each. Change the width and quantity on this page to see the price including VAT.
Can I see a proof before I pay?
Yes. Upload your artwork in your basket and our automatic check looks at size, bleed, colour mode, resolution and fonts straight away, at no charge. You then see your banner on screen with the trim, bleed, safe area and bottom strip marked, and approve it before you pay. The check does not read your wording, so check names, numbers and dates yourself. For a second pair of eyes, add a manual proof (the fee is shown in your basket) and a person will check your file and send you a proof to approve.
How much is delivery, and how long does it take?
Delivery is free to UK mainland addresses. Your order is dispatched in the number of working days shown for your options, counted from the day you approve your proof, and most mainland deliveries arrive 1 to 2 working days after dispatch (an estimate: the courier sets the final time). For Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and islands, the Isles of Scilly, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, please contact us for a quote before you order.
What if there is a problem with my banner?
If your banner or stand arrives faulty or does not match the proof you approved, tell us with your order number and photos. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have 30 days from delivery to reject faulty goods for a refund, or we can replace them.

Artwork Help
What is bleed? Bleed is extra background beyond the trim line, so there is no white edge if the cut is a fraction out. Add 3mm on every edge for most products, and 5mm for stickers, signs and banners. Keep text inside the safe area: 5mm in from the trim on cards and leaflets, 3mm on stickers and 10mm on posters and signs.
What is CMYK? CMYK is the colour mode used in printing (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). Screen colours (RGB) can print differently, so convert your design to CMYK before you upload.
What resolution do I need? 300dpi at the printed size for cards, leaflets and booklets. Posters, correx boards and banners are seen from further away, so 150dpi at full size usually looks sharp.
Free automatic check. Every file is checked as soon as it uploads, and you see an on-screen proof with the trim, bleed and safe area marked before you pay.
Need help? Add a manual proof and a person will check your file and send you a proof to approve, or contact us and we will help you get it ready.
Upload a PDF with fonts embedded or outlined for the safest result.
